Jordan Heffez, M.D.
Dr. Heffez attended Cornell University, where he received a B.S. in nutritional sciences. He achieved his medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. Dr. Heffez attended Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans for his residency in ophthalmology. During that period he was honored as Chief Resident of his class and received numerous research awards. Dr. Heffez then completed a two-year vitreo-retinal surgery fellowship at the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, and was awarded a scholarship in the Mentoring in Ophthalmology Fellows Program. He has significantly contributed to numerous scientific publications; is active in several instructional courses, lectures, and workshops; and is currently involved in clinical research as well as resident and fellow education at the Georgetown/Washington Hospital Center ophthalmology program. His areas of expertise are macular hole, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, macular pucker/epiretinal membrane, and retinal Detachments. Dr. Heffez is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
